portland pullover

Just as most of the Swoon Maine books are packed up and making their way to you, I have a new pattern to share with you!

Portland Pullover is featured in the latest issue of Taproot Magazine Issue 16::SHELTER. And so guess what yarn this is worked with? Shelter, of course, from Brooklyn Tweed.

The pullover is worked from the bottom up in the round and features both raglan and yoke shaping, along with short rows to shape the yoke.

Hope you like it...and hope you all have a nice weekend!

sew a little, too

I couldn't resist but sew a dress each for Immie and Siiri to go with their Little Shore Cardigans. The pattern is Iris by Green Bee. I love it—can't wait to make more. Simple to make and totally wearable. A winning combo in my book.

The fabric is Charlie Harper / Birch organic fabric.

The bottom photo makes me laugh. Siiri often wants a little space from her doting big sister. Though tonight they were giggling on the couch and she said Imogen for the first time!

The proof for Swoon Maine has come and gone...we're on schedule and I hope to see the books very soon. I'm so excited....can't wait to ship you all your books. Thank you so very, very much for all your support and your pre-orders!

ps: Today is the last day of pre-orders!

little shore

Here's Little Shore Cardigan. Shown in quince & co.'s Owl yarn.

Easy for kids to wear, it's been a great addition to their Fall wardrobe.
I had So many photos of the girls wearing them! Too many. It was hard to edit for the book....

And, yes, I made room for the above photo. It just had to be included!

Sea & Shore

Above: Sea
Below: Shore

Sea & Shore are the first sweaters I designed for this book. They are very much inspired by the casual life-style we have here in Maine. The palette is clearly reminiscent of water and the rocky coast. And, yes, they might remind you of another sweater design of mine? It's true, I was probably wearing a Lila sweater when I first sketched these sweaters out for I really wanted this book of knits to be pieces that I would to have in my everyday wardrobe.
