The stitch used in this blanket is one of my favorites—the pattern is repetitive and easy to memorize making it soothing to knit once you have the rhythm down. The yarn is an Organic Ecowash by Swans Island in an Aran weight, so it really is a great yarn for a baby blanket since it is machine washable (and fast to knit!).
And on a personal note, knitting Northport was exciting for another reason. I had just found out that I was expecting another baby this coming October, so I couldn't help but dream of the new little person that will play and snuggle and nap on this very blanket.
The pattern is currently only available on the pages of Taproot! I can't wait until my issue arrives...soon.
